Which Is Better For A Romantic-get-away: San Antonio, Houston Or Austin?
November 30th will be mine and my girlfriend’s 3 year anniversary and I got some great deals on Southwest Airlines to surprise her with her first plane ride to either one of these three cities: San Antonio, Houston and Austin.
We will get there on the 25th of November and leave on the 30th (staying through Thanksgiving) and I need to know which of these cities will best supply the following:
1) Night life (I’m 21, but she’s only 19)
2) Fall Events (which looks, acts, feels better in autumn)
3) Distance (I can’t rent a car so we’ll be walking mostly, public transportation or pedestrian friendliness will help a lot)
4) Outdoors (kayaking, sites/scenery, ect.)
5) Romantic Venues (it is our 3 year anniversary most marriages don’t make it that long)
6) Places to Shop (malls, markets, ect.)
7) Arts (galleries, concerts/performance halls, ect.)
Affordable (this is all out of my part-time $9 per hour worker/full-time college student’s pocket)
9) Safety & Cleanliness
10) Atmosphere
11) Places to Crash (prefer more affordable than high quality)
I am a Student, as is she, so any student deals or benefits would be most welcome. Please mention anything I may have forgotten and be hasty please; I have to purchase the plane tickets by midnight tonight.
Thank you soooooooo much for your help!!

San Antonio is your best bet as it is very romantic on the River Walk and transportation is not necessary.
Houston is great, but you need transportation here.
Austin is fun. Great, live music capital of Texas, but not as romantic as San Anotnio.
All these cities will have many, many fall events. It’s that time of year, you know! Have fun!

1) Houston, or Austin
Houston or San Antonio. Austin is pretty cheap also.
2) Houston, or Austin
3) Well from Florida all the way to California doesn’t have very good public transportation, so for this one I would say San Antonio. They have the worst, but everything within interest in San Antonio, is near the riverwalk. And if not, a cab wouldn’t be too expensive.
4) Houston or Austin, or maybe even San Antonio
5) San Antonio
6) Houston
7) Once again, Houston or Austin
9) All 3 are very safe and clean.
10) All 3 have a nice atmosphere
11) And all 3 have that covered for you.
Houston = 9
Austin = 8
San Antonio = 7
I told you which cities go to which categories, it’s just up to you decided which you can/cannot do without.
All cities are very nice, romantic, and affordable, so, no matter what choice you make, your not making a ‘bad’ choice.

San Antonio has everything your looking for from night life to romantic venues. Spend time in the outdoors at the romantic river walk with great restaurants and places to shop. The city has great public transportation and you feel really safe in the downtown/river walk area. The river walk will be decorated with lights for the holidays. Stroll right along the river hand in hand enjoying scenery. If you want to score some points defiantly San Antonio!! Btw, be sure to check expedia etc. for hotel deals! Congrats and have fun!
